My Dear April

April, you are beautiful... but you always have been!

I was born in April... it has always been a month of growth, love, poetry, inspiration and the beautiful blossoming of flowers!!!


May you all embrace the sunshine of this month, Insha Allah!

DETOX...

*Internal purification is to purify the soul from the effects of sins and acts of disobedience through repenting sincerely from all sins and acts of disobedience.  Purification of the heart from filth of polytheism, doubt, envy, resentment, rancor, treachery, haughtiness, boasting, and showing off is done through sincerity, certitude, love of good, kindness, truthfulness, and modesty, and intending to do every righteous deed seeking the Face of Allah.  Excerpt from the book Minaj Al-Muslim* 

Remember detoxing should be a complete experience, including all aspects of life:

-Pray and Make Dua for self and others

-Call out to Allah, Listen to Allah

-Read & Recite Quran

-Study the Great Believers who came before us! (strive to immolate them)

-Reflect on who you are, why you are, what is beautiful about you, how you can be better

-Remember all the reasons you have to BE HAPPY

-Drink Plenty of Water

-Juice (raw vegetables)

-Consume lots of raw fruits and vegetables

-Exercise

-Take in fresh air / Enjoy Nature

-Take a Bath

-Work on things you have been putting off

-Stay away from negativity

-Be Honest with Self

-Extend LOVE

-Smile, Smile, Smile

-Have Faith, Stay Committed, Be Disciplined

We can decide the state of our Soul, Mind and Body!

Let's choose to be grateful to our Lord for the spirits and bodies He has blessed us with.... Let us choose to be the BEST!

The Wisdom Behind Prayer

As Salaamu Alaikum,


From the Book Minhaj Al-Muslim:


Prayer purifies and chastens the soul, it qualifies the servant for salvation in this life and the Hereafter, it prevents him from immorality and evil deeds.  Allah the Almight says: "And perfrom As-Salah.  Verily, As-Salah prevents from Al-Fahsha (immorality) and Al-Munkar (evil deeds)." Surah Al-Ankabut Ayat 45



Hadith:


When the Messenger of Allah (SAW) was asked: "Which deed is the best?" He said, "Performing Salah at its due time.  The parable of the five prayers is the like of a fresh river before the door of one of you where he washes himself five times a day. What filth would that man have?" They said, "None." He said, "The five prayers remove the sins the same way that water removes the filth."

Allah has been merciful enough to give us a way to be closer to Him and to cleanses our souls throughout the day... do not deny that which He has bestowed upon us!  najlavision

remind us of only self

force us to scream for the stage

when in reality its not yet our turn

sometimes we have to listen to everyone else 

before they listen to us

sometimes the pain that we are fed

is actually inspiration

its a matter of perception

I wont apologize for taking on the weight 

of everyone else's struggle

and then needing your ear                          

who else do I have

I know it is Allah who I can always turn to

but in addition He has given me a love 

from whom I can learn from

so my patience is growing slow like a tree but it is growing

waiting for you to hear me 

and know that I need to hear you

there is enough faith in me to know that it wont always hurt

there is enough humble in me to find the mirror

there is enough perseverance in me to grow beyond my own pain and faults

there is enough love in me to see you coming

there is enough vision in me to see us blossom

as the world awakens

screaming for her freedom

my heart is pierced by the injustice she faces

and you have become my safe haven

tell me I am beautiful

18 Days of Faith

As Salaamu Alaikum,
   
   Egypt, holds a very special place in my heart.  I once lived there and fell in love.  Not a romantic love but a love for the smiles that still sang when wrapped in poverty.  A love for people who would truly give their last.  A love for the feeling of being normal when you are embraced as YOU.  My time there made a lasting impact on my spirit which I still reflect upon today.  As the Egyptian Revolution unfolded I found myself crying as I watched various videos.  My heart felt overwhelmed to see in my lifetime an entire country join together to revolt against a 30 year dictator.  So many of us say we would stand up, fight and even die if we had to for freedom.  Often that is just talk.  However, Egyptians have proven that when you move with faith in Allah you can and will overcome!  There are not enough words to express how grateful I am to Allah for allowing me to witness a country that I love stand up and fight for the justice of their people.  In 18 days Egyptian youth, women and men stayed committed and gave the world a true revolution to remember!

      We should pray for the hundreds of people that were injured and killed!  We should pray that this revolt leads to the heart of Egypt's true spirit being revived! We should learn from the Egyptians and all the other countries that are revolting for their freedom.  We should begin to stand up as one and move together as a unit with faith in our Lord!

Egypt may you continue to win, Insha Allah

How often do we make different aspects of our lives more difficult than it has to be?  How quick do we forget that Allah has made it easy but we make it hard?  When will we stop thinking about it and just do it?

The "It's Simple Series" is a collection of photographs that contain simple statements/quotes to serve as a reminder to us all Insha Allah.  Remember Allah tells us the reminder benefits the believer!  Let us all be examples and reminders to each other Insha Allah!
